The Simpsons Just Aired Their "Series Finale"
After 36 years, The Simpsons have officially aired their “series finale”…kinda.
Hyped as a not-to-be-missed season premiere, tonight’s episode titled “Bart’s Birthday” shocked viewers when it revealed itself to actually be the series finale, hosted by former Simpsons writer and legendary late night host, Conan O’Brien.
Featuring an extensive list of guest cameos including Tom Hanks, John Cena, (even Danny DeVito returning as Unkie Herb), the episode was a real celebration of the show’s golden age, including “alternate” versions of classic clips such as Homer skateboarding over Springfield Gorge.
We even get the long-awaited return of fan-favourites who have passed away more than 25 years ago.
However have no fear, since without spoiling too much of the story (we recommend watching it when possible as it was fantastic), it became evident by the end that The Simpsons aren’t ending anytime soon.
They’ll never stop The Simpsons!
The Simpsons Season 36 is set to premiere on Disney+ in Australia on October 1st, 2024.
EDITOR’S NOTE: The Treehouse of Horror episode in question is part of the Season 36 production run. Season 37 has not been officially renewed.
